What is CBD
What is CBD?
As cannabis continues to gain wider acceptance throughout the world, CBD has begun to make a name for itself as well. CBD, short for cannabidiol, and THC, short for tetrahydrocannabinol, are two of the most prominent, active cannabinoids found in plants of the Cannabisgenus. Cannabis Indica has a higher concentration of THC and hemp (Cannabis Sativa) has a higher concentration of CBD. While THC is known primarily for its psychoactive effects, there appear to be no such effects associated with using CBD.

Therapeutic use of CBD
That’s right: CBD is not psychoactive. In fact, there exists evidence suggesting that it may even mitigate the psychoactive effects of THC. Its calming and sleep promoting benefits can help with insomnia. Furthermore, CBD is noted for its therapeutic and soothing properties: as a novel anti-inflammatory medication, as a treatment for nicotine and opioid addictions, as a treatment for epilepsy and Parkinson’s; it is being researched against cancer as well. Its use against epilepsy, in particular, has helped CBD garner lasting publicity; patients from all around the world have publicized evidence on video, showcasing its positive impact and successful use as a treatment for seizures
A bright future ahead of us
It is essential for people to understand the true value of CBD, to recognize the immense health benefits it has and how much it can contribute to our overall well-being. Hemp is amazingly rich in essential nutrients like vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, natural terpenes and many more phytocannabinoids apart from CBD. These additional beneficial elements are only present in full-spectrum CBD products, as they result from the whole-plant extraction process. The future looks bright for CBD. Just as cannabis indica is now being sold in major markets around the United States, including Nevada, California, Colorado, Massachusetts and New York, CBD is already largely available by legal means in many jurisdictions. Many people are unable to use other anti-inflammatory medications for one reason or another, and to them CBD is nothing short of a miracle drug. Recent growth is promising, and the possibilities are endless.
